Diana: Well, let's start with the important things: Claire's fur trimmed coat. I think it's a 9/10 on the Outlander fashion scale, surpassed for me only by Geillis's feather dress.
Rachel: Seriously, though. That coat was amazing. But as I pointed out to my husband, how in the world is she getting dressed on the road? They must have an entire cart devoted to lugging around her attire.
Also, I remember her needing help with some of the dresses. She is far too fashionable and put together for this road trip
Diana: And wouldn't that fur get really grimy and gross? I mean girl is literally rolling around in piss.

Rachel: On a semi-related note (wardrobe), shirtless Jamie was back. Unfortunately, it was mostly from the back.
Diana: Not his best angle.
That's probably why Claire was on a bit of a tear. Too little nice Scottish chest.
Rachel: It was a very emotional episode for our Claire. She seemed to be doing a lot of huffing about, often unreasonably if you ask me.
Diana: It honestly seemed a little out of character to me. She's normally so smart, but she was taking on a lot of unwinnable battles in this one.
Rachel: My thoughts exactly! And, while I get that those dudes sorta sucked, she certainly didn't try very hard either.
I mean, with all the raging and pouting, I doubt I would have been endeared to her either.
Diana: Oh man though those dudes totally sucked
Geillis would have for sure poisoned them by now
Rachel: Personally, I cringed in the dirty joke scene, with the dude whose kilt was flying about as he humped the air. Ugh. The worst.

Diana: Hahahaha it really was unpleasant
No one wants to see that
Rachel: so true. Those dudes obviously care a little about her. I mean, they fought for her in the end. So I feel like they were just giving her a hard time on purpose. And if she would just chilled out a bit, it might not have been SO bad.
I mean, she got made props for the dirty joke
Diana: I agree that it's smarter for her to try to assimilate, but I still am really irritated by that fucking group of assholes. God I'm glad I don't live in the 1700's. I don't think I'd like it.
So how do you think the show is going?
Rachel: I'm not sure that I loved this episode, but I was very pleased with its ending. I think this is the first time that I've actually looked forward to what is going to happen next time.
Diana: It was a great ending.
Rachel: Particularly great for this show, which was lacking on plot for the first several episodes. Something is finally happening. And, something might start to happen with Jamie soon too.
Of course, there were more Frank flashbacks to serve as reminders that she is married. So, drama.
Diana: Oh Frank
He looked so dapper
A+
Rachel: ehhhh....
But Jamie on the other hand. Did you see him protect Claire's honor?
Adorable.
Diana: You're just blinded by Jamie's twinkling eyes
Yeah that was pretty cute
I agree 100% about the show picking up. It really felt like we started going somewhere in the second half of this episode.
Then again, I also thought that about episode two. So...we'll see.
Rachel: I'm not sure about the whole "this clan will all die in three years" thing
I get that it's history, but I have the same problem with prequels. I don't want to watch if I already know what's going to happen.
Diana: Ah, but maybe Claire can...CHANGE HISTORY
Rachel: is that where this is going to go? Because.. that's an odd turn. And I'm not sure how I feel about it either.
I'M JUST NOT SURE HOW I FEEL.
Diana: I don't know if that's where it's going to go. I'm just saying it's a possibility.
God you're really flip flopping here. Do you or do you not want a plot where you know how it's going to end?
Rachel: ......
I don't know.
I'll go for her changing history I guess.
No need for Jamie to die.
Diana: He's really far too pretty to die
Rachel: No truer words have ever been said.
Diana: Well, hopes for next week?
Rachel: That we continue exciting pacing. Maybe Claire will get kidnapped and they will have to get her back. Or clan MacKenzie gets attacked regardless. Then everyone is on the run. Or really anything that requires more immediacy than "eventually getting back home."
Diana: I guess it would be in vain to hope for Geillis Duncan. She's probably not going to pop up on the road.
So I guess I'll just co-sign your hopes.
Rachel: Well then, until next week!
